A friend of mine from London asked me to write a &#8220;Requiem for the Refugees&#8221; and so I did. It has become a quiet, contemplative piece for piano, that \u00a0later has been re arranged for carillion. The british guitarist Jason Carter has recorded it on his album <a href=\"https:\/\/jasoncarter-harpguitar.bandcamp.com\/track\/requiem-dick-le-mair\">&#8220;The Color of Silence&#8221;<\/a><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Spotify Embed: Dick Le Mair: Requiem for the Refugees\" style=\"border-radius: 12px\" width=\"100%\" height=\"380\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen allow=\"autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; fullscreen; picture-in-picture\" src=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/embed\/album\/7BzKVxWo0cAMhFSlUgL3ZL?highlight=spotify%3Atrack%3A1I1a7Bv7CbUeNoiEl60nbr&#038;utm_source=oembed\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Scores are available at <a href=\"https:\/\/webshop.donemus.nl\/action\/front\/search?order=name&amp;name=%22Mair%2C+Dick+Le%22\">Donemus<\/a> in a version for <a href=\"https:\/\/webshop.donemus.nl\/action\/front\/sheetmusic\/13165\">piano<\/a> and for <a href=\"https:\/\/webshop.donemus.nl\/action\/front\/sheetmusic\/13165\">carillon<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>On the occasion of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/permalink.php?story_fbid=1590644244323981&amp;id=119957801392640\">World Water Day<\/a> on March 22nd 2018 carillonneur David (Won Jun) Jeong \u2013 student of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/University.of.Rochester\/?hc_ref=ARQXbEoaBN_t_YauhpDxKPsjZJM6CmjuS9ST10wX64Jm5pCgEBIP2WXTWjIgDzMqUnM\">Rochester University (NY)<\/a> \u2013 played the USA premier of my \u2018Requiem for the Refugees\u2019 as part of the program \u2018Songs of Waterways and longing for home\u2019 on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/University-of-Rochester-Carillon-119957801392640\/\">University of Rochester Carillon<\/a>. A recording is available on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=fL7n-eaFwUI&amp;t=1s\">Youtube<\/a> and on this website.<\/p>\n<p>The world premier on carillon of this work was played by <a href=\"http:\/\/bellmoods.com\/\">Boudewijn Zwart<\/a> on August 26th 2013 on the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.carillontorens.com\/gouda.htm\">Sint-Janskerk-carillon<\/a> in Gouda.
